Required Skills

  • Must have die cast tool design experience to be considered
  • Must have UGNX 9.0 experience or higher
  • Must be current UGNX user – no training offered
  • B.S. in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Proficient in 3D modeling using NX 9.0
  • Proficient in utilizing Team Center for design management
  • Proficient in building and analyzing flow and thermal models using Magma Soft
  • High level of interpersonal skills to support various team efforts
  • High level of analytical ability to root cause complex problems
  • Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) procedures
  • Demonstrate project management skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to listen to and support team members
  • Demonstrate a full comprehension of GD&T
  • Experience / knowledge of GM-GMS (Global Manufacturing System)
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement processes
  • Thorough knowledge of thermo and fluid dynamics
  • Knowledge of Competitive Manufacturing Strategies
  • Thorough knowledge of the PPAP process

Job Description

  • Create, Modify and Correct 3D tooling models in native and on Team Center
  • Support skilled trades, assisting in creating standardized work and developing repair manuals for tooling
  • Responsible for design, development and change management of large aluminum die cast dies where a considerable amount of creativity, initiative and attention to detail is required
  • The candidate will be responsible to give technical assistance and direction to tooling suppliers
  • Establish a course of action to implement tooling changes and production improvements
  • Provide technical assistance to production operations
  • Have a full understanding of engineering materials and their application
  • Determine practical approach to determining tolerance as it relates to manufacturing and die construction
  • Support coordination of problem solving activities for issues related to processing, design, construction and sampling of large die cast dies
  • Support PDT (Product Development Teams)
  • Support MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) initiatives for die Cast Tooling
  • Utilize Team Center to manage Unigraphics models
  • Utilize Magma analysis to optimize part quality and tool function
