Job Description

  •  General tasks to be performed
  • Responsible for creating, sending and closing purchase orders
  • Review all purchase order requests for accuracy and, if required, modify before processing into a final purchase order
  • Communicate with vendors in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and other potential issues related to an open purchase order
  • Deliver a weekly purchase order report to management that indicates the vendor invoice number for all closed purchase orders
  • Responsible for competitive bids through requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for information (RFIs)
  • Prepare bid package, distribute to suppliers, analyze bids and create sourcing summary
  • Make supplier / sourcing recommendations
  • Establish communication with and support other departments with their purchasing needs
  • Support corporate diversity sourcing objectives
  • Manage relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Monitor suppliers, scorecard and create supplier reports
  • Maintaining a suitable and diverse pool of suppliers
  • Analyze and identify any issues that may have a negative impact to the company
  • Review opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Coordinates activities between all departments and supplier base to ensure contract compliance
  • Work with all departments to ensure compliance with policies and programs in alignment with the overall procurement strategy
  • Contribute to the development of innovative procurement strategies while aligning processes and policies to meet specific business requirements
  • Performs other duties and projects as required / assigned by manager
