Required Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience estimating in heavy construction industry
  • Ability to produce accurate labor estimates based on project requirements
  • Proficient with pre-construction services including but not limited to - conceptual estimating, value engineering, bid package assembly, subcontractor qualification, budget development, and updating as design alterations, reconciliation with other estimates, interfacing with design development to ensure project goals are achieved
  • Set project milestones and manage internal resources to meet required deadlines

Job Description

  • Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for products or services
  • Plans, assigns, and communicates to project estimating team the means and methods to accomplish vital goals, milestones, and timelines of assigned deliverables for project preparation
  • Assist in collection of subcontractor and vendor bids or quotations in a timely manner required to establish realistic estimates
  • Assist in development, maintain, and issue templates for proposals and project development procedures to ensure quality, consistency, and continuity with vendors, subcontractors, and or other Junction Industries divisions
  • Actively maintains knowledge of industry trends and professional technology to present best-in-class company image while seeking, accepting, preparing, and presenting clients proposals
  • Executes company protocols for deliverables such as bid packages, deliverable formats, and budget projection tools
  • Coordinate with senior division leader and assigned Project Manager the commercial, technical, and contractual deliverables to clients as part of proposal process
  • Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economic cost scenarios
  • Follow approval authority procedures and limits are observed in bidding projects
  • Ensure adequate time for executive review, should the dollar value require it
  • Assist in developing a systematic take-off procedure that allows for expedited review of estimate and later project management reference for determining scope
  • Assist in maintaining the estimating spreadsheets (or other software) that ensure standardization, efficient cost tabulation, and enough detail to aide in covering all applicable costs
  • Review awarded contracts for compliance with proposal scope, costs, schedule, and terms / conditions
  • Negotiate any discrepancies with client, prior to acceptance
  • Ensures the flow of project information is maintained and documented
