Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree & three years+ of molding experience with a background in tooling / processing /
  • molding; equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Description

  • Provide direction for the day-to-day functioning & long-term improvements of the department
  • It is intended that the molding manager
  • will work to develop the capabilities of employees to work towards a lean production system
  • Tracking and maintaining of all tooling activities, engineering changes, cost for changes, etc.
  • Plan, direct and control activities to accomplish budgeted financial objectives
  • Responsibilities extend through daily production, quality, process engineering, tooling engineering and resins
  • Responsible for coordinating and controlling daily operational activities of the molding department
  • Meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost targets
  • Cost reductions through lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and development of peak performance and productivity
  • Understand the philosophy and technical aspects of lean manufacturing and TPS (Toyota Production System)
  • Develop lean culture within the department & lead department in kaizen and lean thinking initiatives
  • Audit injection molding processes, and plant layout to recommend and implement efficiency and cost improvements
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with the requirements of the company
  • Lead and manage molding operations (shift managers, process engineering manager & tooling manager)
  • Responsible for direction
  • coordination and evaluation of these units
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work
  • appraising performance; rewarding and discipling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Other duties as directed
