Required Skills

  • Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
  • Frequently lifting to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
  • Having a good sense of balance
  • Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season

Job Description

  • Contract Fork Truck Operator to support our Ann Arbor, MI facility
  • This contract length is potentially 3 - 6 months and will suppport 1st shift
  • Qualified candidates for this opportunity will possess good communication skills, forklift certification per OSHA, mechanical skills and ability to follow directions in a dynamic environment
  • The Fork Truck Operator will operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries to and from storage areas, test cells, loading docks, and trucks
  • Operating the truck in a safe manner always watching out for pedestrians
  • Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks
  • Moving materials packed on pallets or in crates around the facility
  • Stacking goods in the correct storage locations, following inventory control instructions
  • Checking loads are secure
  • Stacking empty pallets
  • Performing daily equipment checks such as oil levels, propane tanks, the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment
  • Empty trash hopper into waste receptacles located outside
  • Dumping materials into machine hoppers
