Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline
  • 2 to 3 years Quality Engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience and competency in quality planning including proficiency with the AIAG core tools (Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA and Statistical Process Control (SPC) standards)
  • Possess working knowledge of automotive or industrial manufacturing including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment
  • Experience working with statistical analysis, PFMEA, and PPAP
  • Proactive approach to identifying and avoiding problems at an early stage
  • Demonstrates professionalism when dealing with external customers and internal staff
  • Working knowledge of IATF16949 preferred
  • Auditing experience a plus
  • Team leader / player-Should exhibit good judgement, initiative, and ability to work independently
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook), statistical process control (SPC) software, and Enterprise Resource Planning software [PLEX]
  • Hands-on lean manufacturing or project management desired
  • American Society for Quality certification, such as current CQE status, desired

Job Description

  • Understand and implement customer specific quality requirements relative to on-going production and new program launches
  • Effectively interface and collaborate daily with manufacturing team members on the production floor
  • Facilitate the preparation of core process documents and PPAP documentation to customers
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Monitor customer portals to improve timely response to customer issues
  • Provide timely solutions to manufacturing issues or customer concerns demonstrating a sense of urgency
  • Continuously review processes and analyze data to identify improvement activities
  • Perform or assist in Gauge R&R studies of mechanical instruments and assembly equipment
  • Create and train associates on Quality Alerts as necessary
  • Assist in the maintenance of IATF16949 and ISO14001
  • Assist / Oversee installation and startup of new processes and equipment
  • Assist in program pilot runs
  • Perform process audits and take appropriate corrective action / follow up
  • Lead corrective action utilizing hands-on problem-solving tools such as A3 or 8D
