Required Skills

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience using Mastercam software required
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience with CNC machining and turning processes required
  • Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent / higher degree required
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Mastercam software
  • Understanding of arithmetic, geometry and trigonometry to a level necessary for SPC charts, proper use of gages and CNC offset adjustments to achieve specific results
  • Ability to analyze mathematical data to identify acceptable and unacceptable product and develop corrective actions when needed
  • Ability to comprehend engineering drawings to relate to job specific requirements such as part processing sequence and process operation control features
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a flexible, fast-pace, team-oriented environment

Job Description

  • 1st shift available
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media 
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece and gage settings to specifications
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
  • Communicates the set up and process information to appropriate manufacturing personnel to facilitate proper training
