Job Description

  • Schedule and review TCLP – Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure testing that we just had for the paint booth filters and solvent rags
  • Ensure that we have recent TCLP tests for these items, especially if we change products in the paint area
  • Conduct TCLP testing for the waste garnet on the waterjet table for the landfill companies
  • Review Hazardous & Non-hazardous waste stream on quarterly to 6month basis to ensure that we are below 220 pounds per month of hazardous waste
  • Ensure that ALL employees are following the PPE requirements daily and ensure that the PPE assessments are posted in each area and updated on an annual basis
  • Schedule the annual fire inspection with Vanguard Security and with Associated Fire
  • protection
  • Oversee the monthly housekeeping audits
  • Review equipment guarding and PMs on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Schedule Annual safety training with the committee and score testing
  • Follow up on the following safety inspections for ladders, exit sign & emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations & aisleway stripping
  • Annual SDS review for all chemicals within the facility
  • Ensure that when we bring on new chemicals that we have the SDS filed on the network
  • Ensure that we have conducted the annual Carbon Monoxide testing on all the forklifts, and they meet OSHA regulations
  • Conduct air quality testing for the fabrication department every 5 years or so and the same for the paint booth
  • Assist managers with accident investigations
  • Ensure that Hot work permits are being pulled and followed
  • Annual audits of Lock Out Tag Out are completed and inspect the lockout board to ensure that the community locks are returned in a timely manner
  • Schedule annual lifting device inspection and conduct repairs or replacement parts and give team members an update
  • Review forklift and crane inspections and ensure that the necessary repairs are being made
  • Schedule EGLE and MIOSHA to come into our facility to evaluate us to see what improvement opportunities that we might have and to ensure that we are following the state or federal laws
  • Schedule monthly safety committee meetings
  • Review all waste manifest forms and make copies for WRC reports
  • Review and update slug control procedure on an annual basis
  • Maintain building maps as needed for security purposes
