Required Skills

  • 5 years’ experience in a materials management role
  • 2-3 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Program management experience
  • Experience with modern manufacturing tools & approaches (e.g., lean) 

Job Description

  • Maintain safety as first priority
  • Establish supply chain-related metrics and drive the department to attain (or exceed) the goals
  • Effectively communicate metrics, results and action plans
  • Works with peer group, as part of the Plant Leadership Team, which defines overall plant strategy
  • Support Lean initiatives related to production processes- materials planning and acquisition, manufacturing quality systems and continuous improvement systems
  • Motivate and mentor direct reports
  • Foster and develop talent, be actively involved with the succession planning of the departmental personnel
  • Manage the cycle count and annual physical inventory process
  • Accurate record keeping for all shipments
  • Communication of shipment status to those involved
  • Lead materials planning & scheduling to ensure material availability to support production goals develop supply forecasts and allocations to meet future needs
  • Manage raw material, in-process and finished goods inventories and coordinate inventory
  • requirements consistent with inventory levels / turnover goals and coordinate month-end inventories
  • Develop and track department budgets, materials metrics and performance reports
  • Drive continuous cost and performance improvements by analyzing cost drivers and processes for improvement opportunities
  • Share logistics best practices across the plants
  • Interface with the Plant Controller to ensure process control of material variances
