Required Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or engineering
  • Five or more years’ experience in strategic or operational procurement for assembly factory, managing at least $10m in spend
  • Autonomously preparing strategic plans to improve current level of cost, vendor consolidation, local content, payment terms, lead times, inventory, and other aspects of total cost
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Understanding the needs of the (internal) customer, and managing priorities accordingly
  • Representing the Company in a professional manner to all business partners
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Good IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel is a must
  • Ability to work in a structured way (organized, well-planed)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • On site hazards include forklift traffic, overhead cranes and 480V electrical

Job Description

  • The Procurement Specialist has the responsibility to assure goods and services are purchased at the right cost and quality and delivered to the internal customer at the right time
  • Looks for opportunities with new and existing suppliers that bring value to the Company
  • Daily processing of purchasing requirements for assigned commodities
  • Request quotations for new parts involving projects and installation within budgetary guidelines and ensures on time delivery
  • Review KPI’s regarding on time delivery, lead time, cost and working capital and formulate a plan of action to realize improvements
  • Initiatives to eliminate hidden costs like cost per invoice, cost of non quality, scrap, handling, order processing, etc
  • Development of best in class supplier network for purchased products
  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers for commonly used parts
  • Localize parts currently imported, at competitive total cost
  • Other duties and projects may be assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
  • Review material availability reports and take actions to match deliveries with production demands
  • Benchmarking and negotiating with new and current vendors in terms of cost, terms and conditions and service level
  • You will be reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager
