Required Skills

  • BS in Engineering or creditable equivalent education
  • Knowledge of Unigraphics NX, Vis Mockup and Teamcenter
  • Relevant auto industry experience required - Past GM work experience desired
  • Areas of expertise include: Engineering Product Development in automotive structures, Design, and Analysis 
  • Required Strong understanding of materials, engineering theory and principles of design 
  • Position related experience - 3 years 
  • Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally 
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
  • Partners with senior management to analyze and solve issues

Job Description

  • Body and Exterior product engineering development
  • Responsible for initiating the engineering development process of vehicle body and exterior components, understands requirements and translates them to engineering solutions, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, and control of major engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment
  • Works with engineering lead and supports as required
  • Provides engineering support for advanced vehicle development
  • Initiates the engineering development process for major subsystems
  • Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs
  • Develops engineering designs (including subsystems)
  • Releases advance product components and / or line of products 
  • Performs complex design analysis
  • Coordinates test and / or development programs
  • Diagnoses and corrects deficiencies
  • Specifies and balances system requirements
  • Assists in maintaining cost controls
  • Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments
  • Coordinates with suppliers and / or internal customers
  • Initiates supportive build programs 
  • Stays abreast and applies new technology and competitive products
