Job Description

  • Directs and coordinates activities of production shift in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operation
  • Also involved in strategic planning for future production issues
  • Give day-to-day direction to Section Supervisors, Line Leaders, Lead Operators, Line Feeders, Production workers and all other support groups
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays along with production scheduling and management to ensure department goals
  • Ensure 5S of the production floor is maintained
  • Conduct floor inspections of safety policies, practices and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, practices and procedures
  • Review housekeeping audits, systems audits and floor checks and assist in implementing improvement practices
  • Compiles stores and retrieves production data
  • Assists in recognizing and solving staffing requirements and resolves working grievances
  • Assists Plant Assembly Manager as required and perform other tasks as assigned
  • Conduct plant tours for visiting customers, suppliers or other organizations as requested
  • To implement and monitor actions that prevents the manufacture of defective product
  • Correct any deficiencies in product, quality, training, work instructions (WI's), or personnel
  • Work with Molding & Paint along with support organizations such as Materials, Quality and Maintenance to efficiently run the production cells, maximize line up time and maximize labor efficiency
  • Effectively participate in the continuous improvement process (CIP) group and take a proactive position in problem solving
  • Responsible for improvement plans in designated section to include reduction of scrap, improvement in labor efficiency and quality
  • Take necessary action to meet required production budget while still maintaining product quality
  • Relay information from Plant Assembly Manager meetings, CIP meetings, Problem Solving teams or any other contact with management to all line employees
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, practices, and procedures
  • Manages production supervisory personnel
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
