Required Skills

  • Strong communication, presentation and moderation skills

  • B.S. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field required. M.S. preferred
  • 1 year of related automotive experience
  • This position requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed (>20%)
  • This position has no supervisory responsibility, but needs to lead cross functional development teams in different development locations on a global base

Job Description

  • This position is responsible for the coordination of all tasks within the development department as well as coordination with cross-functional departments for the project(s) assigned
  • The System Engineer is responsible for the technical implementation of the product (first concept to production) and coordinates these also with the customer
  • Through the early implementation of ‘design-robustness’ you’re adding to product quality during launch and production
  • Technical lead for the product and system development including all phases of development process (internal leadership, internal communication)
  • Internal interfaces include, but are not limited to: program management, product development, industrial engineering, sales, advances purchasing and advanced quality
  • Lead customer contact for all development issues and assignments (external communication)
  • Identify work packages and activities, estimate time, effort and define work products (project management)
  • Analysis and review of customer requirement specifications to determine feasibility, also in regards of cost and time (requirements management)
  • Create and make changes to product / system requirements, review product / system requirements specifications with the internal and external customers
  • Create or make changes to system architecture
  • Support DFMEA activities with the FMEA moderator
  • Evaluate product qualification (DV / PV) status and test reports
  • Support project risk management, lead on technical risk management on system level
  • Support of the project configuration management
  • Lead of the project release management
  • Review of work products on all levels of the projects
  • Support new business acquisition
