Required Skills

  • 3 years’ experience in telecommunications voice and data services and / or related industry
  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, systems engineering, telecommunications management, or comparable experience in a technically related field, desired
  • Certifications desired, not required: CCNT, CIPTS, CTNS, RCDD, iNARTE Telecommunications Engineer
  • Extensive knowledge and / or experience with the following:

  • Voice Peering, Network Telemetry, and Fraud Monitoring and Mitigation
  • General Network Protocols and OSI models (TCP, UDP, VLAN, MPLS)
  • Linux administration, scripting and C programming
  • Software development practices
  • Mix of Python, Ruby, PHP, JS, HTML, CSS, SQL / TSQL
  • Telephony and VoIP terminology
  • Protocols: SIP, RTP, TLS, SRTP, ENUM
  • BroadSoft and GENBAND Platforms
  • ACME / Oracle SBC Net-Net’s
  • Ocom, Wireshark, PCAP applications
  • Elastic logging systems
  • Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet, Vagrant, Docker, VMware, OpenStack, Capistrano
  • Excellent time management, organization, problem solving and communication skills

Job Description

  • Lifecycle management of unified communications (UC) features, applications, related voice systems and network equipment including: Session Border Controllers, SIP Application Servers, Media Gateways, Mail Servers and others
  • Periodic on-call rotations, 24x7 emergency Tier III availability
  • After-hours maintenance and augmentation of platforms and network assets
  • Respond to Tier III escalations of customer issues as it pertains to communications platforms
  • Provide training and mentoring to other team members
  • Support a wide range of network infrastructure and customer services
  • Fluent in telecommunications terminology
  • Support multi-functional teams in support of product development
  • Establish and monitor network alarms and events
  • Maintain and improve the various process and back-office systems, including network inventory and OSS provisioning
  • Develop and implement solutions for various business and client needs
  • Develop and support procedures for ensuring voice network survivability and disaster recovery
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and respond to diagnostics and other data
  • Assist Network Operations personnel with issue resolution
