Required Skills

  • Automotive customer literature authoring experience (3-5 years minimum) or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with use of MS Excel, MS Word and Arbortext
  • Technical writing experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate – both orally and written
  • Good interpersonal skills and can work well with others
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with adherence to strict delivery schedule timing
  • Preferred:
  • Proficient with use of Global Service Authoring database
  • Familiar with SharePoint
  • Proficient with use of PDF-XChange
  • 4-year degree in related discipline or equivalent experience

Job Description

  • Develop and author customer literature (owner’s manual) information
  • Author customer literature content in global authoring database
  • Research assigned vehicle content, using all available platform information, including plan books (PPC), Engineering Change Request / Decision Notices (CR / DNs), mock-up room vehicles, Engineering meetings and interaction with Engineering and Marketing teams
  • Work with Product Engineering, to ensure vehicle feature text is accurate and complete in accordance to guidelines
  • Work with CL Safety, Legal, and Regulatory Coordinator to identify required safety, legal and regulatory text
  • Work with CL Proofer / Editor to ensure that text meets requirements of guidelines
  • Perform on-vehicle validations to confirm correct vehicle content within the owner’s manual
  • Review validation findings with CL team members and Engineering when text issues arise
  • Maintain records of reviews and discussions with engineering or other personnel per record retention policy and make this information accessible
  • Complete all assigned work according to established production schedule
  • Maintain documentation per record retention policy
  • This includes, but is not limited to, emails, validation documentation, record of approved content for inputting into GSA, Engineering / regional contact markup feedback
  • Complete all assigned work according to established production schedule
  • Complete all assigned work observing all established Customer Literature Team processes
