Required Skills

  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in suspension component design
  • Familiar with typical automotive engineering documents (Requirements, Specifications, DVPR, FMEA, and Control Plans)
  • Steel Stamping process experience preferred
  • Steel / Iron / Aluminum Casting experience preferred
  • Bushing Tuning / Testing and packaging, highly desirable
  • Damper Tuning / Testing and packaging, highly desirable
  • Spring Tuning / Testing and packaging, highly desirable

Job Description

  • Responsible for engineering design of suspension tuning / structural components to meet program objectives, under department manager’s supervision;
  • Work with chassis designers to maintain 2D drawings and 3D data of suspension structural components;
  • Develop and improve generic Core Engineering Documents for the chassis components of responsibility
  • Engineering Specifications (ES)
  • Design Requirements and Guides
  • P-Diagram & Boundary Diagram
  • DFMEA & DVPR
  • Define and release program specific Engineering Documents for the chassis components of responsibility based on Program assumptions and performance Target Cascade
  • Engineering Specifications (ES)

  • Bill of Material (Mass, Material Specifications, Cost, etc.)
  • Identify gaps and deficiencies in chassis component specification definition in meeting Program’s hardware content assumptions, performance targets, package, and design specifications
  • Assist in development of chassis systems package analysis
  • Assist in development of design and manufacturing / quality processes and checks for suspension components
  • Assist in chassis components supplier development
  • Conduct benchmarking / research in advanced suspension technology, regulatory requirements and compliance
  • Assist in the development of chassis component commonality, reuse, and platform proliferation
  • Assist in development of chassis component weight reduction solutions
