Required Skills

  • Bachelors or Master degree (e.g. as a quality engineer)
  • No less than 5 years’ experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer in the automotive industry (no less than 5 years)
  • Experience in aluminum casting and machining
  • Experience in mechanical products and processes
  • VDA 6,3, ISO / TS knowledge and ability to perform audits
  • Full knowledge on APQP, PPAP, R&R, GDT
  • Experience in performing technical changes to automotive components
  • Knowledge on Production Scheduling
  • Desirable to have Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Working-level Spanish is a plus
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Large level of communication / cooperation with Suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality
  • Relations with Suppliers executives, plant managers, Quality managers, internal Executives and Managers
  • Experience in statistical process and product control techniques
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Job Description

  • As part of the North American purchasing organization the employee will have frequent contact to the series and project buyers, as well as to the other supplier quality engineers within the region
  • Furthermore, frequent communication and alignment with global lead buyers as well as engineering will be part of the job
  • On time development of the suppliers to the adequate level of conformity
  • Supports to reach purchasing saving targets at the same time
  • PPAP on time feasibility, capability
  • R@R on time feasibility, capability
  • Quality failures in production and warranty
