Required Skills

  • Computer Skills: Solidworks, EPDM – Vault retention practices, Microsoft office suite
  • Leading DFMEA process
  • Experience with CAD processes a plus
  • Ability to perform / oversee FEA (finite element analysis)
  • Experience with lighting and other regulations is a plus (DOT, ECE, Emark)
  • Motorcycle Operators License; Riders Safety Course
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his / her actions
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Adapt to change in the workplace
  • Valid U. S. Passport or ability to obtain

Job Description

  • This position is for an Engineering Manager who leads the Engineering team in the implementation and attainment of corporate initiatives through; new product development (NPD), product enhancements and resolution of product issues
  • You will be responsible for developing and owning resource demand planning, attainment of timelines, project scheduling, creation and monitoring of budgets and have accountability for project review and evaluation
  • Demonstrating leadership by possessing the ability to mentor, coach, lead and engage diverse team members in the pursuit of common goals
  • Ability to deliver results on time and within budget
  • Responsible to communicate job expectations (goal setting); assign, direct and evaluate their work; and oversees the development and maintenance of team contributions and competence
  • Achieves engineering objectives by; developing and managing complex project plans; leads process and team to solve complex mechanical problems, ensures alignment of project priorities, sets standards, testing protocols and evaluations / verification and conducting project reviews
  • Financial Acumen; Meets engineering financial objectives by forecasting engineering requirements; evaluating team capacity and project loads; preparing annual budget; identifying expenditure needs; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions when needed; preparing cost estimates and budgets
  • Plans projects by determining specifications; negotiating and selecting external contractors when needed; establishing schedules for custom projects and event planning
  • Takes ownership of design quality and knowledge capture
  • Establishes good engineering practices that ensure efficient product development and initial quality
  • Determines testing and measurements required for all new product development
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with codes and legal regulations
