Required Skills

  • Minimum five years of progressive responsibility in an IT or business environment with demonstrated technical knowledge which provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Experience within the insurance industry highly preferred

Job Description

  • Develop comprehensive requirement specifications as part of the SDLC to define functional and non-functional requirements that will be used to change new or currently deployed solutions
  • Work comfortably within both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
  • Support optimization of the SDLC process to ensure quality and timely delivery of software deliverables
  • Collaborate with QA team to ensure traceability between defined test cases and elicited testing
  • Collaborate with Development team to ensure effective hand-off of requirements and identification of requirements
  • Support capacity planning to optimize the effectiveness of the department
  • Support estimation process which includes business users, development representatives, and testing representatives
  • Identify and implement optimal process improvements to ensure effective capture of functional requirements for both enhancement projects and defect resolution
  • Define and enforce acceptance criteria for business requirements
  • Assist in prioritization of product backlog items ensuring business priorities and technology advancements are reflected
  • Lead organization and execution of user acceptance testing
  • Lead IT activities for large and complex business initiatives using appropriate project management methodology
  • Perform peer reviews for fellow Business Analysts business requirements ensuring conformity to standards and quality
