Required Skills

  • Produce purchase requisitions / orders and processes orders by pulling systems’ order information
  • Analyses product orders based on demand and requirements on a daily / weekly basis
  • Follows-up weekly on status of open product orders and production planning related directly to engine procurements / remain program and indirectly to core return program
  • Negotiates with vendors as necessary on critical issued (i.e. pull ahead delivery of open purchase orders, pricing, order cancellation, resolving quality issues, accounts receivable) Reports and tracks vendor performance metrics, works with vendor for any improvement, and takes necessary further actions after discussion with management
  • Actively participates in issue resolution including interacting with vendor and communication between vendor and internal / external parties
  • Interacts with other departments pertaining to new development, existing programs, production change management, and service / warranty assistance related to engines / reman engines / return core
  • Updates systems and provides notification of vessel shipments / delays to internal team members and warehouse locations
  • Interfaces and coordinates with logistics team on importation of products, TIBs, EPA emissions requirements, and exportation of product outside the United States
  • Perform warehouse related functions related to engines / reman engines / return core, such as good receipts, processing vendor invoices, physical inventory, audits, ongoing reconciliations, cycle counts, etc.

Job Description

  • Types and levels of inventory (source components, complete assemblies, major components); basic understanding of inventory control and logistics preferred
  • Distribution network / OEM customer
  • Product lifecycle specific to source componentry through assembled product
  • Basic diesel engine knowledge preferred
  • Proficient PC skills in Windows application
  • Supplier experience
  • Purchase order coordination and creation
  • SAP, Excel (Not a must, but pivot tables help)
  • Problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain, or equivalent directly related work experience
  • Minimum three years’ experience in customer service, logistics, and inventory
